Are you an adventure-craving 13-15 year old? Are you past your camper years and want to level up your Camp Indy experience? Let’s go! Our EPICS program is for you. The program is a 3-day, Monday – Wednesday experience. We offer elevated versions of our classic camps such as Canoeing, and Climbing, along with Epic-exclusive adventures in Caving and Backpacking.
The EPIC adventures start on Monday with intense teambuilding activities to prepare them for their Tuesday and Wednesday escapades off campus. The EPICS have an overnight campout in solo tents/hammocks on Tuesday for maximum outdoor fun. (Tuesday/Wednesday Meals are included)
Scion/EPICS
If you love the idea of the EPIC program and also want the full 5-day Camp Indy experience, you can also sign up to be a Thursday/ Friday Scion. You will spend Monday – Wednesday as an EPIC, and then Thursday and Friday walk as a Counselor-in-training/Scion alongside our staff with one of our classic camps.

EPIC Adventure
EPIC Kayaking New for 2023
Float and gaze at God’s creation cutting through the water!
The Kayaking EPICS will focus paddling basics on Monday to prepare them for their floats down Fall Creek and Sugar Creek with overnight camping on the Sugar Creek. Epics will need overnight gear and a change of clothes. Tents and Meals for Tuesday and Wednesday are included.
EPIC Backpacking
Slowdown, simplify and enjoy God’s creation!
The Backpacking EPICS will build up their teamwork skills and learn backpacking basics, including, how to pack a backpack, how to safely start a fire, and navigational skills which will help prepare them for their Tuesday and Wednesday backpacking trip at Charles Deam Wilderness or Shades State Park. Epics will need a backpack, sleeping bag, pad, and tent/hammock, backpacks and tents can be provided if needed. Meals are included for Tuesday and Wednesday.
EPIC Canoeing
Linger and enjoy the sights and sounds of the water!
The Canoeing EPICS will have a strong focus on team building and will learn canoeing basics on Monday to prepare them for their floats down Fall Creek and Monroe Lake with overnight camping at Charles Deam. Epics will need overnight gear and a change of clothes. Tents and Meals for Tuesday and Wednesday are included.
EPIC Climbing
Ascend to the heights!
Do you like heights? Climbing EPICS is for you! Activities on Monday will equip the group using Camp Indy’s very own high ropes course elements. Tuesday and Wednesday we will travel to local climbing facilities to practice our skills. Including a Tuesday night camp out overnight on the Camp Indy campus.
EPIC Caving
Go underground, get muddy, and explore the world that most have not seen!
The Caving EPICS will explore 2 different caves in Southern Indiana with an overnight campout on the Camp Indy campus.
The EPICS will have focused team building and learn caving basics on Monday to prepare them for their Tuesday and Wednesday caving excursions. They will need to have: two sets of clothing for caving that they can dispose of afterwards (remember it is 56 degrees down there), also head lamps and overnight gear. Helmets, knee pads, and tents will be provided. Meals for Tuesday and Wednesday are included.
Scions
The Scion program is Camp Indy’s counselor-in-training program for 13-15 year olds. For full info, check out the CI Leadership page right here.
Horizon Indy Youth
Do you not have your own youth group but really enjoy the community? We invite you to hang with the Horizon Youth Group Wednesday evenings all summer and winter long. 6pm hangtime, 7pm worship and the word on this same campus.
