The Scion program is Camp Indy’s counselor-in-training program for 13-15 year olds. For full info, check out the CI Leadership page right here.
AGE 13-15. These intense 3-day camps run Tuesday-Thursday. Campers begin their journey with focused team building and equipping for the Wednesday-Thursday overnight adventure, in solo tents or hammocks. EPICS take us throughout our beautiful state backpacking, canoeing, and caving. The cost is $195 per 3 days.

The Canoeing EPICS will have focused team building and learn canoeing basics on Tuesday to prepare them for their floats down Fall Creek and Sugar Creek with overnight camping on the Sugar Creek. Epics will need overnight gear and change of cloths. Tents and Meals for for Wednesday and Thursday are included.
Slowdown, simplify and enjoy God’s creation!
The Backpacking EPICS will have focused team building and learn backpacking basics, including, how to pack a backpack, fire starting, and navigational skills that will help prepare them for their Wednesday and Thursday backpacking, at Charles Deam Wilderness or Shades State Park. Epics will need a backpack, sleeping bag and pad, but tents will be provided if needed. Meals are included for Wednesday and Thursday.
EPIC Mountain Biking
Shred some trails!
The Mountain Biking EPICS are not for the faint at heart! This intense camp is for those who like to bomb down hills and flow through the trails in the woods. We will get our bikes dialed in, and ride the trails in our 98 acre wooded property. Wednesday and Thursday we will travel off campus to ride trails in the area. Be prepared to come with a helmet and a bike that has both front and rear brakes as well as a gear system. Wednesday night we will camp out overnight on Camp Indy campus. After campout dinner, they will attend Horizon’s Youth Group.
Go underground, get muddy, and explore the world that most have not seen!
The Caving EPICS will explore 2 different caves in Southern Indiana with an overnight/campout on the Camp Indy campus. After dinner they will attend Horizon’s Youth Group before they campout.
The EPICS will have focused team building and learn caving basics to prepare them for their Wednesday and Thursday caving excursions. They will need to have: two sets of clothing for caving that they can dispose of afterwards (remember it is 56 degrees down there), also head lamps and overnight gear. Helmets, knee pads, and tents will be provided. Meals for Wednesday and Thursday are included.
Swing, dip and Sprint!
The Ninja EPICS will focus on overcoming physical obstacles and growing in skills of fitness, agility, strength, and coordination. Join us and learn how to become an athletic ninja. We will utilize our new ninja rig here on campus throughout the three days and mix in running and overcoming challenges of an obstacle course race(OCR). Wednesday night we will camp out overnight on Camp Indy campus. After campout dinner, they will attend Horizon’s Youth Group.
Ascend to the heights!
Do you like heights? Climbing EPICS is for you! Tuesday and Wednesday’s activities will equip the group using Camp Indy’s very own high ropes course elements. Wednesday and Thursday we will travel to local climbing facilities to practice our skills. Wednesday night we will camp out overnight on Camp Indy campus. After campout dinner, they will attend Horizon’s Youth Group.
