Horizon Christian School is a comprehensive private school enrolling on average 300 students in grades Pre-K-12. The School opened in 1998 for grades for preschool -6th grade. Junior High opened its doors in 2000 and the High School opened in 2005. Our International Student Program is open to students who are in grades 9-12th. Horizon Christian School is accredited by Indiana Department of Education Freeway Accredited and a member of Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and holds membership in the College Board.

Horizon Christian School is one of the most beautiful campuses in Central Indiana featuring 98 acres of hiking/running trails, a swimming pool, a climbing wall, zip line, soccer fields, baseball diamond, 60 acres of woods, a nature pond, a disc golf course, a 2 year bible college, and a 4 year accredited university on campus.

However, not many people know where it is is located because we aren’t located on a major thoroughfare. Very few cars drive by our beautiful campus unless you live close by; this makes our property one of the best kept secrets in Central Indiana.

We are on the northeast side of Indianapolis, a 20 minute drive to downtown, around the corner from Ft. Harrison State Park, minutes from world class museums, art district, professional sports facilities and centrally located to many universities including Indiana, Purdue and UIndy.

Horizon Christian School offers boarding for our International Students. We take pride in becoming one big family, and here on our campus it feels like home. That is why we have opted to focus on boarding instead of the traditional homestay option. It’s here where they will connect, grow, and make memories with other students from around the world

Our International mission statement comes from 1st Thessalonians 2:8: We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well because you had become so dear to us.

Our Students learn many life skills while staying here as they learn to manage their time between all the many activities that are before them. Whether it’s a planning outing once a week, a community service project on the weekend, a school activity, church event, or a game night around the dinner table. They will also have chores and responsibilities that will allow them to learn and grow together as they learn how to share space and respect differences.

The students will be responsible for upkeep of their rooms and personal belongings. All rooms will be inspected to make sure they are taken care of. Students supply their own linens, blankets, pillows, towels and personal items. Rooms will have beds, mattresses, and dressers. The common area will provide living room furniture, kitchen and a study area for students to utilize.

In addition, our students will have access to individual community families who are part of our overall school/church family. This family will allow our students a place to stay on occasional weekends, school holidays and or breaks during the school year in addition to occasional dinner and or events.

Lastly, our International Students will enjoy a one week vacation/serving opportunity together as a group sometime throughout the year.

On occasion, Horizon will accept students outside of our boarding program who already have a host family available to them. Please contact the International Student Program Director if you are interested in this option.
