History

Horizon Christian Fellowship began in 1988 as a simple five-person Bible study. It quickly outgrew Bill and Vi’s living room and moved to a location on Haverstick Road in July of 1988. Continued growth gave opportunity to rent and then purchase the present 98 acre campus on Indian Lake Road in July of 1991. Meeting in existing buildings on the south side of the property, it was soon evident that a new facility would be needed to meet the needs of the church. In March of 1996, after prayer and planning, building began in the wooded area of the campus where the current church building stands.

Since that time, Horizon has seen over 20 church plants birthed out of this fellowship within the United States and internationally. The Horizon Campus accommodates many outreach ministries: Camp Indy, a day camp which runs throughout the summer; Horizon Christian School offering an education for students in kindergarten through high school; Calvary Chapel Bible College, a two-year intensive program, and more.

It started with a simple five-person Bible study in a living room.

Over 20 new churches have been birthed in the US and internationally.

In keeping with the vision of winning to Christ, discipling in Christ, and sending out for Christ, Bill founded Horizon International Missions, the international arm of Horizon. Horizon International is a team of dedicated men and women working together to spread the Gospel throughout the world by means of crusades, relief work, street evangelism, sports and more.

As we look to the future and endeavor to follow the Lord’s command, we are ever mindful of the great responsibility the Lord has given us as overseers of this property and facilities of Horizon Christian Fellowship and the great privilege to serve young and old alike to the Glory of Jesus Christ.
